Hopefully the Twin Nails Facebook group comes out of hiatus in 2015 since those were some of my most popular posts this year!  I am looking forward to joining in more of the Challenge Your Nail Art group monthly challenges as well.

I want to thank all of my readers sincerely - without you I wouldn't keep going!  I hope you enjoy my blog and continue to stick around in 2015.  I am glad I was able to keep on a semi-consistent posting schedule, averaging 10 posts per month.  I am hoping to stick with that kind of consistency, as well as improving my photography and blog layout in 2015.  Thank you again for sticking with me and let me know in the comments if there is something you would like to see from me in 2015!  Hope you have a safe and Happy New Year!

Candy Cane Nail Art

I am bringing you my first blog post from my new computer!  My boyfriend got me a new Chromebook for Christmas!  I am still working on getting used to the change from Windows, but so far so good!  I even edited all the photos in this post using some of the apps on the Chromebook.  I will be experimenting over the next few posts to decide what works for me.  It's just nice to not have the email half of my pics to my phone to edit!

Today's nail art is my Christmas day mani!  I decided to try my hand at peppermint/candy cane nails.  I decided not to do a specific pattern on each nail, and used a combination of striping tape and nail vinyls from Nails Redesigned.  Which, my boyfriend so kindly ordered me more nail vinyls for Christmas!

I started with a base of China Glaze White on White.  I then applied the nail vinyls and striping tape, and applied NYC Broadway Burgundy, which is a red jelly polish with red shimmer.  I then removed the nail vinyls and applied topcoat.  I received tons of compliments from family on my candy cane nails.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!  I go back to work on Friday, so I have a few more days of freedom!   I'm hoping to have at least one post up during that time, or at least start preparing some material for 2015!  I also want to apologize for not posting much on Instagram.  I recently updated the app on my phone and now I can't seem to get pictures to post - so hopefully I can get that remedied soon!  If I don't make it back on here before the new year, I wish everyone a happy and safe New Year!

Christmas Tree Nail Art

Merry Christmas Eve!  They let us off work early, so I have a quick post for you, my Christmas Tree mani!  For this mani, I started with a base of China Glaze Mingle With Kringle.  Once dry, I added nail vinyls to create the tree shapes.  The trees were created using Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Style Maker topped with Zoya Rina.  I then added a small red hex glitter to the top of each tree.

Unfortunately, because of how sparkly this mani is, I was unable to get really good pictures of it.  Since Rina is a glitter topper with a lightly tinted green base, I knew I wanted to layer it over another color.  I love the bar glitters in Rina because it adds a leafy quality to the trees!

Overall, this is a super quick and easy mani if you are looking for some last minute holiday mani inspiration.  I still have to do my nails for Christmas day, so I am off to take care of that.  I hope everyone has a lovely holiday season and gets to spend plenty of time with family and friends!  I will be taking a break between now and the end of the year, but I will be back with my Christmas nails at some point!  Merry Christmas!

Zoya Paloma Jelly Stamp-wich

Today I have a holiday-ish look for you!  This is my first successful jelly stamp-wich!  I've done a few jelly sandwiches over the years (it seems to be a theme for me around Christmas...see here and here), but this is the first time I've done a jelly sandwich with stamping in the middle!

For this mani, I started with three coats of Zoya Paloma.  I love this berry colored jelly polish - its so pretty just in bottle, but especially on the nail.  I then stamped using QA88 from Born Pretty Store and Sally Hansen Color Foil in Rose Copper to add the image on each nail.  Once dry, I then added a final coat of Paloma, and followed that with Seche Vite.

I love the end result and received several compliments at work on my nails.  In my pictures, Paloma kind of leans towards magenta, but it was definitely more berry-colored in real life; perfect for the season!  I know I've got at least one more post in the works for you guys before Christmas, but I'm hoping to add another.  Like I mentioned in my post earlier this week, I will be out of town most of the week following Christmas, so I may not have any posts up again until the end of the new year.  I will, as always, keep posting on Instagram, so be sure to follow me there!

Sinful Colors Prosecco

Today, I have a beautiful polish to share with you!  I'm sure most of you have already seen Sinful Colors Prosecco on many other blogs, but I'm here to tell you, if you see this polish - snatch it up!  This is also my first polish from the Sinful Colors SinfulShine line of polishes.

Prosecco is griege (grey-beige) in color with a ton of gold shimmer.  The formula was impeccable and built to full opacity in three thin coats.  I don't have too much else to say about this polish, so I will let the pictures do the talking.

Overall, this is a lovely nude-but-better polish for me.  And you definitely can't beat $1.99 in price!  I will definitely have to give the SinfulShine polishes another look when I see them in stores.  In case you are missing my nail art, I will be back later this week with more!  I will also probably be taking some time off between Christmas and New Year's as I will be visiting family.

Aliquid Lacquer Puppy Love

Hello!  This week has been crazy busy!  I guess the busy-ness of the holiday season is finally starting to catch up with me!  Today I have the swatches of the base color I used in my snowflake mani from Monday.  This is Aliquid Lacquer Puppy Love.

I hate to show you a limited edition polish, but perhaps someday it will show up on a blog sale somewhere!  Puppy Love was a charity polish where $5 from every purchase was donated to the ASPCA.  Alison adopted her dog Trudy (the pooch on the polish bottle!), so it is a near and dear cause!

Puppy Love is a gorgeous teal shade with tons of sparkle!  I cannot even begin to name all the colors, but most notably, pink, purple, green, and gold!  There is also a subtle pink shimmer throughout the polish.  As soon as I saw this polish, I knew I had to own it!  There is so much depth to this polish and it is truly unique.  Also, the formula is fantastic!  And unfortunately, my pictures do not do this polish justice!

Puppy Love is my first Aliquid Lacquer polish, and it certainly won't be my last!  I hope everyone is having a great holiday season.  We're off to two holiday parties this weekend, one of which is with my office.  Apparently its a very fancy affair and since its my first year with the department, I have to go!  Have a great weekend!

Teal and White Snowflakes

Hello!  Today is my first holiday post of the season!  One thing I have not ever done here on the blog is Winter/Christmas/Holiday nail art!  I did one snowflake mani last year, as part of another challenge, otherwise, most of my holiday nails end up being spur of the moment and lack-luster since I do them at the last minute every year.  I tried to use the same stamp as last year from my Vivid Lacquer VL006 plate, but I couldn't seem to get the image to pick up.  I think part of the problem may be because my white stamping polish is starting to dry out.

I ended up switching from my Konad white stamping polish to China Glaze White on White.  Even though it isn't as bright and crisp as the Konad, I actually kind of like the subtle look.  The real star of the show here, however, is the base polish!  This is my first Aliquid Lacquer polish, Puppy Love!  I will have swatches of this polish on its own later this week, so I won't talk about it too much!

For this mani I used the large snowflake image from the Hollywood Nails stamping set I received for Christmas last year.  I love the size of this snowflake!  I will definitely have to use this on my toes as well!  I love how sparkly Puppy Love is in this final shot - you can really see the pink and teal glitter in this polish.  It's super gorgeous!

Florida Gator Nails - UF vs. Florida State

Alas, today's mani is my final of the year.  Last Saturday was the last game of the regular season, against FSU.  We did qualify for a bowl game (we won't know which one for a few weeks), but that game likely won't be until New Years Day, so the mani won't probably be posted until 2015.  Which, by the way, I can't believe there is only a few weeks left in 2014!  But onto the nails!

I again used nail vinyls from Nails Redesigned and China Glaze I Sea the Point and Stoked to be Soaked for these nails.  I really need to pick up back ups of these two polishes because they are the perfect shade of Gator Orange and Gator Blue.  They are both getting a little thick in consistency, which is why my tips look like crap and some of the lines of the vinyls are not perfect, because I simply had too much polish on the nail.

Overall, this is was a lot easier to do than I anticipated.  I started with a base of Stoked to be Soaked and then applied the nail vinyls to all nails.  I then painted each nail one at a time and peeled the vinyls off.  When it was dry, I top coated, and voila!  This is the first time I've done more than one vinyl on the nail at a time.  I was worried about not being able to line them up correctly, but I don't think I did too bad of a job.

I really need to order more nail vinyls!  I've used up almost all that I ordered from Nails Redesigned back in September.  I love these vinyls and how you can create super easier nail art in no time, as well, as such a variety of designs depending on the number of vinyls you use and your placement.

All in all, the game didn't go horribly.  We played relatively well the first half, but not as well the second half.  I think it was the quantity of mistakes FSU made that allowed us to stay in the game.  We hired our new head coach yesterday, so hopefully better things will come next season.  As always, Go Gators!

#HePicksMyPolish - December 2014

Today I have another installment of #HePicksMyPolish!  Going in to this mani, I had no idea what I was planning to do.  I ended up deciding to do a simple chevron design using nail vinyls from Nails Redesigned.

The colors he chose are:
Pure Ice Celestial (blue)
Pure Ice Home Run (mint)
Urban Decay Naked Smog (brown)

I started with a base of Home Run, the applied my nail vinyls and painted Celestial on the bottom half of the nail, and Smog on the top half.  This is the first time I have used any of the Urban Decay Naked minis I won in a giveaway earlier this year.  I will really need to use them more often!

For whatever reason when I applied my topcoat (Seche Vite) a foggy look appeared over Smog on some nails.  I'm not entirely sure why this happened and it wasn't noticeable in real life.  Even though I took these pictures only a few hours after doing this mani, unfortunately you can already see the shrinkage on my tips and the base color showing through.

Overall, I really did like this mani.  I love that he constantly picks colors that I wouldn't necessarily put together, but end up looking great together.  I even got compliments at work - which I always love.  Happy Hump Day!
