Twinsie Tuesday - Studs or Embellishments

Happy Tuesday!  The Twinsies are back today with studs and embellishments.  I'm not really one for adding 3D elements to my nails, since some of my nails are very curved and I have trouble having things lay flat on my nails.  The triangle shaped studs I used in this mani I received as an add on in my December Julep box, which was actually the first one I had received in two years!

So...I will start by saying I am not fond with how this turned out.  In my head it looked a lot better.  I started with a base of OPI My Vampire is Buff.  I then sponged Zoya Teigen on each nail.  I then added silver studs on each nail.  I actually really like these studs because they are so thin.  Most of the other studs I've tried (not that I've tried many) have been raised and catch on everything.

Moral of the story, I love the studs, hate the base I came up with.  Teigen is such a pretty polish, but I am definitely not doing it justice here.  Be sure to check out what the other Twinsies came up with for this prompt!

Twinsie Tuesday - Coffee Inspired

Today is Tuesday, so the Twinsies are back!  This week's prompt is coffee inspired!  I'm not a big coffee drinker (unless it's in frappuccino form), but I can definitely still appreciate coffee.  I decided that doing a watermarble would recreate the look of liquid creamer swirled in coffee.

I started with a base of Deborah Lippmann Ya Got Trouble, a dark copper color with a gold/rose hued shimmer.  I then did a watermarble using OPI Be There in Prosecco and clear basecoat.  I'm definitely not the best watermarbler, but I'm really happy with how my thumb, index, and middle finger nails turned out.

Overall, I'm happy with how this turned out!  Be sure to check out the coffee-inspired nails the other Twinsies came up with!

Pink and Gold Halfmoon Nails

Today, I have another possible Valentine's Day mani.  I decided to go with an unexpected color combination for this mani.  Even though pink is more stereotypical, I wanted to bring in a secondary sparkly color.

For this mani, I started with a base of China Glaze Mingle With Kringle, which is definitely one of my favorite gold shades in my collection.  I then added half moon vinyls and Nicole by OPI Tink's in the Pink to each nail.

Overall, a very simplistic mani, but it packs a big punch.  I hope everyone has a happy Valentine's Day weekend!

Twinsie Tuesday: Romance

Hello!  I have had a rough week since my last post!  I managed to come down with an awful virus and was completely bed-ridden for three days.  I'm very rarely sick, so it really kicked my butt!  Fortunately, I did these nails the day before I started feeling really bad, and have worn them the entire week!

For this mani, I wanted to take myself up on my own challenge and use Sally Girl Peppermint in a Valentine's Day mani.  Since I've been bitten by the stamping bug lately, I knew I wanted to do stamping over the crelly polish.  I of course used the perfect red, Louboutin Rouge Red, for the base of this mani.  It also worked surprisingly well for stamping.  I used a rose image from one of my favorite stamping plates, BP-L024 from Born Pretty Store.

I am quite pleased with how this mani turned out.  You may have also noticed I chopped my nails down.  They were getting so long I was having trouble functioning in daily life!  I love long nails, but I eventually get sick of them and want to cut them down and start fresh.  I do want to share this brief exchange between my fiance and I while I was doing this manicure:

Me: (yelling at the cat) Hey! Don't chew on my Louboutin!

My fiance: Never thought you'd say that, huh?

I thought it was too funny not to share!  Make sure to check out the other romantic manis from the other Twinsies, and happy early Valentine's Day!

Twinsie Tuesday - Mix N Match

I'll be honest, I didn't put a lot of effort into today's mani.  I was really busy over the weekend and now I've started coming down with a cold, and just didn't feel motivated to put together a mani.  I finally came up with an idea last night, however once it was finished I did not like it.  But of course I didn't have time to do something different!

For this mani, I started with a base of elf Purple Dream, a metallic purple polish.  Purple Dream was a beautiful one-coater with no streaking.  elf polishes really do have a great formula if you can stand the smell!  As accent nails, I added a coat of elf Gina Girl to my middle and ring fingers.  Gina Girl is a mix of purple, red, green, and gold hex glitters of varying sizes.  Of course in my photos, you can't see the glitter at all though...

In order to create the "mix n match" part of the prompt, I decided to use a collage plate from Born Pretty Store, BP-L002.  Since this image is large, I was able to pull five independent designs from it for each nail.  This way there was still some symmetry between the nails, but they were still kind of mix n match.  Make sure to check out what the other Twinsies have come up with!
