Florida Gator Nails - UF vs. Mizzou

Happy Friday!  Since last week was a bye-week, I decided to save my Gator nails from the previous week for this week!  Here is a look at my Gator nails for the game against Missouri.  It's always great to get a win on Homecoming!

For this mani, I started with a base of China Glaze Stoked to be Soaked.  I then placed blue diamond glitter in a larger diamond shape on each nail.  Unfortunately, the topcoat I used did smear the blue glitter slightly, but it isn't super noticeable.  These glitter pieces were super reflective and a bit difficult to photograph!  You can see how shiny they are in several of the pictures!

I spent the weekend with my extended family for my parents' birthdays and everyone marveled at my nails!  In the end, the Gators won 40-14!  Hopefully we can take care of Georgia in a similar fashion this weekend!  Go Gators!

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired by the Weather

The Twinsies are back today with manis inspired by the weather.  Since my background is in meteorology, I knew I had to pick something good!  I've previously done hurricane inspired nails, so I decided to go with my next favorite weather phenomenon - lightning!

For this mani, I started with a base of Zoya Tove.  I then sponged on Zoya Yuna to create ominous looking clouds.  Then using lightning decals from Nails Redesigned, I added a lightning bolt on my accent nails.  Of course I had some bubbling...so please ignore the little bubble in my lightning bolt.  I used Ulta Sun-Sational for the lightning bolt.  I then finished everything off with matte topcoat.  Of course the topcoat also smeared the lightning bolt...but at least it still looks cool!

I really enjoyed this mani!  It was simple and gave me a chance to use my lightning decals that I had only used once before.  I hope everyone had a good weekend, and be sure to check out the other meteorological manis below!

Black and Orange Lace Nails

Hello!  This week has been crazy busy for me, and I've come down with a cold again, so my apologies for only having one post this week.  These nails are my #ManiSwapCircle nails from last weekend.  Since Halloween is this month, we went with orange and black colors.  I was partnered with @icicle_halo_ and decided to recreate a pretty red and black lace stamped mani.

For my mani, I started with a base of Sephora by OPI I Think I Cayenne.  I am in love with this color and can't believe I haven't used it sooner!  I then used some lacy temporary tattoos as water decals for my accent nails.  I found out the hard way that true temporary tattoos are super sticky and it was very hard to clean the residue off my cuticles, hence what looks like a poor cleanup job.  I then added three black studs on my index and pinky nails to finish off the design.

I absolutely loved this mani!  While I love Halloween, I'm typically not one for doing holiday-inspired nail art, but this was a fun way to incorporate the colors of the season, and still have it be very fitting for any time of year with a different color palate.  I may do Halloween nails after all this year!

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired by My Phone Case

Hello!  Today the Twinsies are back with manis inspired by our phone cases.  Many of you won't be surprised to find out I have a Florida Gator phone case.  My case has seen better days, but I'm hoping to get a new phone soon, so then I can get a new case.  In the meantime, here are my Gator nails!

For this mani, I started with a base of China Glaze Stoked to be Soaked.  I then used Gator water decals I found at CVS several years ago for my accent nail.  I knew I was no way talented enough to try and draw Albert on my nails!  I then finished everything off with my new topcoat from Zombie Claw Polish.

These were also supposed to be my Gator nails for last weekend's game against LSU, however since the game has been postponed indefinitely thanks to Hurricane Matthew, they are just Twinsie Tuesday.  I also want to take a moment congratulate Amanda on her marriage!  I wish you and your husband all the best! <3

Florida Gator Nails - UF vs. Vandy

Hello!  I had planned on having this post up yesterday, but Hurricane Matthew had other plans!  Because the University of Florida was closed today, we had to do two days worth of work yesterday.  Luckily, all of my friends and family across Florida, including us here in Gainesville, all made it through the storm unscathed.  Today's post is my Gator Nails from last week's game against Vanderbilt.

For this mani, I started with Essie Blanc.  I then used orange and blue stamping polish from Born Pretty Store and UberChic stamping plate 1-03 to create the double-stamped polka dot nails.  I then applied straight nail vinyls from Nails Redesigned to my accent nails.  I used the same stamping polishes to create the orange and blue stripes.

Overall, the game against Vandy went relatively well and we won 13-6.  This weekend's game against LSU has been cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew.  So, there won't be any Gator Nails from me this weekend. They're not sure if they'll be able to reschedule the game for later in the season, so we will just have to see!

Parallax Polish Bryant + Stamping

This week's #maniswapcircle colors were blue and white. These colors were chosen to honor Liam Kowal and fight against drunk driving and for organ donation.  I had the honor of recreating a mani by @nails_by_ps.  Since we had several stamping plates in common, I decided to go with a stamping mani.

I started with a base of Parallax Polish Bryant, a deep blue with orange shimmer.  I then stamped using white stamping polish and BP-L-003 from Born Pretty Store.  Overall a simple mani that I really loved!
